MyAdButler.com is a new website that will soon be a fully-functional social network/learning center for small business owners who want that extra edge when it comes to local advertising. As of this posting, it is still in development (and will then be in alpha, followed by beta development), but by late Fall 2009 it should be ready-to-go.

I'm sure that once it's fully-operational, it'll be the next big thing for small business owners in the Delaware area (and small business owners nationwide soon thereafter).

Stiuqxela: How to Win

For those of you wondering, here is a pretty easy 5-step plan for winning a low-key S.E.O. contest (like the stiuqxela contest):

1. Create an entire blog geared towards that keyword and update it every so often (about every 2 weeks is good enough). Total time = 1 hour
2. Let the search engines know that blog exists (either submit the URL to the search engines or make sure you have at least one link from a site/blog that's already indexed). Total time = 5 minutes
3. Submit your blog to some free directories (there are tons of free directories out there and many ways to automatically submit your blog to them, though manually submitting to the top 4 or 5 directories is best). Total time = 20 minutes
4. Submit an article about that keyword to the top 3 article directories (e.g. e-zine articles). In each article, write a few short paragraphs. Total time = 30 minutes
5. Wait.

And there you have it. You just won an S.E.O. contest in less than 2 hours total.

Forget what stiuqxela is? Stiuqxela, of Green Bay Packers fame, was created in Professor Brown's BUAD477 marketing class for a search engine experiment. The student who ranks the highest in Google at the end of the contest wins an undisclosed prize.

So who will win the prize? Well, this "cullenoscopy" blog is probably the easiest choice for the prize since it has a wealth of content, uses a good amount of SEO techniques without overdoing it, and has been a consistent high-ranker for stiuqxela all term.

And what about some sleepers? Well, if I could buy stock in stiuqxela rankings, I'd put some money in both mesh's stiuqxela blog and cynthia's stiuqxela blog. Even though neither blog is currently in a dominating position, I think they'll both get a little higher soon.

Stiuqxela Update

As previously posted, stiuqxela is an imaginary term, created in Alex Brown's Information Technology Applications in Marketing class (BUAD477) and linking to the Green Bay Packers' official website (e.g. stiuqxela), which will help students learn a bit about S.E.O. concepts. Essentially, the student that ranks at the #1 spot in Google at the end of the Spring 2007 semester will win a mystery prize.

So, as of April 6 2007, how are things stacking up?

stiuqxela: a word that was made up in this Internet Marketing class that points to the Green Bay Packers site (stiuqxela).

What's the point of this word? To teach students in Alex Brown's class some of the concepts of SEO. The student who ranks at the top of Google at the end of the semester for the term stiuqxela wins a prize.

Why the Packers football team? No reason, other than to show the class what effect pointing all the links to the Packers website has on rankings for stiuqxela.
